Belly Dancing Workshop

Anne Laing

Anne Laing started practicing yoga in 1999. She fell in love with the movement, breath and flow of a class. Through yoga, she found her way to pilates and began teaching at The Tom Smith Pilates Studio in 2003. Inspired by her yoga teaching clients, Anne earned her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certificate with T.R.Y. for Life. Specializing in alignment, form and flow, Anne uses her classical ballet background to bring yoga to beginners and seasoned practitioners throughout the Akron area.

About the workshop:
Introduction to the basic movements of belly dance. Learn to shake, shimmy, and slide to the music. Then put it all together for a fun, easy choreography at the end. Discover the feminine dancer within.

About the instructor:
Anne started dancing at an early age then discovered Bellydance in 2003. Known for her graceful style, she’s taught and performed throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania. Sometimes as a solo artist or with different dance troupes such as Dance du Soleil, Gems of Egypt, and Gpyse Soul. She won “best dance troupe” in 2011 at the Pittsburgh Bellydance competition.
