This workshop begins by learning the Five Basic Principles of Pilates. These principles are key to performing exercises safely and effectively. They show you how to breathe properly and position your body through the exercises, and will make you more aware of your core. Utilizing the Basic Principles, you will learn a warm-up that can help to mobilize your spine, hip and shoulder joints, preparing the body for exercise. From here, you will begin to learn carefully selected Pilates exercises that compliment physical Yoga poses that are often practiced. You will learn how to apply Pilates exercise science into your physical Yoga practice.
No former Pilates experience required. Open to all exercise abilities.
